hello...

I was on H1.. but i quit my job and i am currently enrolled as a Full time student.
I need to go to Mexico as part of my Study program....

I have received the change of status from USCIS..but i need to get my passport stamped..

I have not been successful in getting an appointment in Canada....

>> Can i go to mexico and get the visa stamped during my stay there..is it risky???

>> i cam here on F1-h1-now back to F1.... do i have to go to my country of origin to get my visa stamped.

My 140 was filed for a future Team lead position. I am currently a Sr Sw Engg with the same employer. The job description is nearly the same. But I am not sure how this little quirk effects my AC21 eligibility. When does my 180 day start counting ? From filing date or from the date I get the Team lead title ?

180 days start from filing of I-485.

Folks,
My wife got terminated on Feb 13th, she received her last pay stub on Feb 20th...We haven't applied for a COS till date...Is she now out of Status..??? She was waiting on her last paystub before she can apply for a COS and she received around 24th of last month and now we are all ready to send our documentation for COS to USCIS. During this span of 2 weeks is she considered staying illegal here..??
I was reading somewhere if USCIS receives her COS after her employer h1b revocation, she might be denied her COS...Is this true...??? Please Advise.
I was also reading somewhere about e-filing for COS, is e-filing available for H1 to H4 COS..??

Who decides on the classification of an EB 2 or 3?

I have a masters degree and when filling my residency it was specify in the position, is it something my lawyer should have requested or Immigration decides when they receive the documentation?

Hi,
I am working for a company who filed for my GC.

I-140 approved 18 months back
I-485 "applied and pending" 12 months back
EAD in hand from about 10 months.

If I move to a company with the exact same job description,
a) Whom do I need to inform, with regards to , AC21 portability clause
b) Who will check if the job is in the exact (same/similar) field

c)Possibility that there will be RFE after I-485?
d)What if the GC sponsoring company is not helpful after I move to a different company. How is this going to affect?

I need to weigh in the costs associated with countering a RFE and the increased salary due to job change.

Let me know your opinion.

I filed green card with my old emp. in 2002, i applied for i485 July/07 and in APR/08 i change my job to similar profession, now i work and live in MD, and my interview for status adj is sch in NJ, should i notify and change address to MD since i live , work and my current emp. in MD. Please help....

I had applied on July 19th to Nebraska. My I-140 was approved from TX.
Today I received transfer notice WAC...., mentioning that they have transferred my case to TX Service center.

The receipt date is of Sep 14th, Notice date of Sep 17th'2007.

Does it mean I lost the original filing receipt date of July 20th'2007.

hi,

i entered the US on AP in Jan 2010, and at the time of entry, my I94 validity was set for
1 year (viz Jan 2011) - and the AP also noted "AoS" status on it.

(a) Is the validity of my I94 (and thus my legal stay) 1 year, or as i have read elsewhere,
if AoS is pending, then its valid till the AoS case is decided?

(b) If the validity is 1 year, what is the process for extending the I94 validity?

I noticed they have a Calls to Action from Groups and Organization on the home page, When i tried to see if there are any Immigration related issues posted There were many like increasing H2A etc but nothing corresponding to Retrogression or GC waiting faced by thousands of immigrants.

There are 100s of bills waiting for Co-sponsors published on this website.

I felt we should do post about the issues faced by Thousands of Legal immigrants who are struck in retrogression or Per country limit.

This may be a good place to put as a number of representatives may view it and it is a good way for us to let the people know of the issues.

All you have to do is...while in the preview and export editor click Fill Options in the output options box and then pick Mesh Gradiant shading from the fill style dropdown menu. That should solve the problem because it is probably rendering with cartoon average fill as default.

I am on H4 visa, based in Georgia. Did anyone get �Change of Maiden Name to Married Name� done on passport from Indian Consulate Houston, TX.
Can anyone tell me what am I supposed to write in the �Surname� column in the new online application form ? The old application had 2 columns, 1 for maiden name and the other for Desired Name, but the new online application form has only 1 Surname column. I am confused as to what should I write � my maiden name or my married name. I do have the notarization done on the affidavit form. Does this give me the right to write my married name ? Which name should I sign in the application- maiden or married name?
AlsoI have heard that anybody submitting �Change of Maiden Name to Married Name� application in person, to Indian Consulate Houston, has to collect the new passport at the counter in person, the passport will not be mailed to him/her. The passport is only sent by mail to those who have sent the documents to Indian Consulate Houston by mail.
Is it true?

The Federal government has accused these people of bringing 500 to 1,000 illegal immigrants a month into the United States.
