These two cards are so different in performance that you shouldn't even bother comparing them. This is much more of a question of do you want a very average card (6600) or a very high end card?
That you would even consider a downgrade just because of a little fan noise is amazing to me. Not a good plan my friend.

having owned every mac mini from 1.66 c2d to a 2010 2.66ghz .
you need to upgrade if :
1)you game a lot.
2) If you want dual screens of 1080 p
3) if you are a handbrake freak
4) if you want a 27 inch hi end led screen with 2500 by 1400 resolution

Well pffft to IGN. I was at the store yesterday and :eek: there was a stack of Theme Park for DS. Sweet! So I got it for $29.99 cdn. Saved me from importing it. Almost dead on to the PSX version, a little more advanced than the Genesis one, but not quite as advanced as the PC version. The stylus control isn't perfect but it works better than a pad thats for sure.

How can a chip be the size of a PCI card?
The biggest chip I ever saw was an IBM Power processor, which is about the size of a palm (less fingers).
Not the actual chip, but the entire package (GPU, board, VRAM, etc) is quite large and quite hot, possibly the size of what you are describing, which is way too big for Apple's current and future portable offerings.

Eh, if nobody likes it at least we had fun trying to tape it like 50 times.
I'll be posting bloopers that happened during recording probably tomorrow seeing as we have another snow day in 60?*weather :D.
I promised the bloopers and I just imported em all off the camera, it took us 15 times according to the clips in iMovie to get it right.

Good thing you reminded me about the mall opening time, I was thinking we would be able to line up outside but since my local Apple Store is in a mall we will only be able to start lining up once the mall opens, right?

The large heatsink could have been a huge improvement, however apparently Apple didn't use it to lower sound levels very much. Such am elaborate case, and they can't be bothered to make it quiet.

Might be there for 5 or 6 AM. Have a full day of work that starts at 9 AM and includes going out of town in the afternoon. Can't be sure I'll be up and alert enough to go later in the evening to pick-up. Plus it looks like fun
Same here, leaving on a flight at 2:30, but I don't have to work (I'm a grad student). I was hoping I could show up at 7 am and wait however long it takes and get the phone and still make my flight. I am guessing I don't have to stay up overnight to do that, and hopefully I can still meet cool Mac people.

BART is awesome. Sorry. Don't let my thread scare you... ***** happens all the time everywhere. Just understand when peak hours are, as they kinda suck because you don't get to sit down. Oh, and there are lots of iPods, EVERYWHERE! So I wouldn't be too worried.

Okay, I'm no newbie but I am stumped on this. Just got a new iPad 1. It came loaded with 3.2.2 (blow out pricing at Verizon). From all my reading, I can't jb this firm version. So, I dl'd the iPad 1,1 4.2.1.ipsw file so I could utilize the Greenp0is0n app (which, I gather 'used to' work on 3.2.2 but now requires 4.2.1). I shift-click (PC) to install that and Apple won't let me (natch, cuz it isn't 4.3.1). Since this is new, with unbreakable current firmware, I have no shsh blobs I can reference saved. So, changing the hostfile won't help me as there is nothing a cydia I can retrieve.
Question, in short, what do I need to do to jb this? :confused:

Last time I jailbrok was my 3G, Now I have an i4 with 4.3.2 and when they went untethered recently I jailbroke.
I havent used many themes long enough to be sure, so this might just be the theme I'm using. However with the Aquarium theme, and I suspect many others, every day I get several banner ads that pop up in the background, behind the icons.
What the heck is the deal with that? I don't need what should be a static background image pulling web content to serve me up ads.
Is this a thing the developer of the theme controls, is it a consequence of having the jailbreak, or something else?
More importantly how do I turn it off.
I searched the forum but could not find a thread that covered this.

I use iMovie 11 to combine basketball videos.
At each game, I have two video cameras -- one following action on the court, one zoomed in on the scoreboard. I then use PIP in iMovie 11 to superimpose the scoreboard on the basketball action.
How can I change the default size/location of Picture In Picture in iMovie 11?
Every single time I superimpose, I have to move and resize the PIP. I always make it the same size.
Can someone please tell me how to change the default Picture in Picture size/location?

With the new software apn settings can't be changed
You mean iPad or iPhone? I don't have to change anything on the iPad, just the iPhone APN. Currently using iPhone 4 with 4.2.1.

I understand that the punctuation marks go inside the quotes (um, not parentheses... maybe you do need him ;)) when part of a quotational reply. However, when used to mark a single word or phrase, it seems as though contemporary "correct" usage allows for the quoted word/phrase to be used as an indivisible object, meaning punctuation would go outside.
But, hey, I'm a programmer geek. I'm happy just to be able to communicate at all.
