I read about your intense desire for GC and was thinking to myself... is GC something that someone has to be so very obsessed about? But after reading about your ordeal on this thread, I am starting to see why this is such a joyful time you in you life. Congrats!!! This is a standing testimonial of the kind of negative impact this broken, fu**ed up immigration system brings to the life of individuals. Core IV team, I think we should package this person's story and use it as an example of how bad things can get in this system and publicize this incident. Maybe mail his story to all the incoming senators and house reps and make them see the kind of shit every single person undergoes in this system. It seems that some of us want to fight, but don't have a dedicated thread. Instead we have been hijacking other useful threads.
What I propose here is a FIGHT THREAD.
Yes, this is a copycat idea from FIGHT CLUB
How we go about:

Was it the first extension (before the completion of 6 years)?
140 was approved and filed 485, moved on to EAD right after first H1 expired (6yrs). Worked on EAD for 2.5 yrs and then had to move back to H1( did not even know we could :D ) due to some personal issues. So applied for extension and got approved for 3 yrs.
dont know if i got lucky or if there exists some condition here. I am not sure if it was treated as a new H1 or an extension but I guess the paperwork submitted quoted it as an extension based on 140 approval and a pending 485.

Why don't we all put an end to finger pointing and concentrate on what we need. If someone is doing wrong or has followed wrong ways, govt may/may not take care of them, it is upto the govt, why do we always blame fellow citizens or immigrants?
We all know, people immigrate doing manipulation, being illegal, over stay visas, jump fences, modify resumes, etc...... at some stage everyone of us would do some level of manipulation so why finger pointing?
Making our lives better and fixing retro is the goal why drag in consulting companies.

Though it is proven time and again that CP filers are the least needed people on this forum (next to EB3 I - going by this thread), it is unfair not reserving few columns on the profile for CP filers ... It doesn't cost VISA numbers for that...
2. I have told this before but would like to repeat now... I don't contribute because there is nothing for CP filers here. VISA recapturing is the only effort that would benefit CP filers but anyway the chances of that bill passing is close to 0.
In my opinion, the biggest sufferers are people in EB3 India or China and who have opted for CP (now guys, don't start lecturing on CP vs. 485. We have heard it enough).

Our PDs are close.Mine is jul-06 eb3/I. My family's all 485s had a soft LUD on 03/31/2009 and today 04/01/2009. I am thinking it could be because of 2nd finger print notices for our family.

For all of you who have send me a pvt. message asking me how to reach IO @ TSC, here are the steps:
1) Call Customer Service @ 1 800 375 5283
2) Continue in english, hit 1
3) To check the status, hit 2
4) Know your receipt number, hit 1
5) Enter Receipt number, and then for SRC, hit 1
6) Confirm Receipt Number, hit 1
7) You will now hear the status of your case. At this point, hit 3 to "Report a problem".
Here is the trick - now you will hear 4 options. I believe # 3 is "If your case is outside the processing time..." and # 4 is for "If you have filed several cases and have received a decision on....". You want to hit # 4 and you will be connected to an IO at TSC.
Just a word of caution: You will be talking to an Immigration Officer @ TSC so please be very polite. Some officers will tell you that they cannot give you any information, or you should be calling Customer Service number, simply say 'Thank You' and hang up. It might take days/weeks before you reach an IO who would be willing to help.
Again, the sequence is:

Dude, whatever it is, get out of that hole if you cant get GC filed.

I was in similar situation. My previous company was merged into a new company, and I got screwed big time on wage issues.
Yeah, I learnt everything the hard way.
But for people out there, if you have a choice, utilize it. Don't give into exploitation

1 week after getting approved, I got the card in mail today.
All the work that I put in the last 2 month to get my file picked finally comes to an end here. It's good to see that people are proactively calling USCIS and following up on their cases.
